FicklestiX are honoured to have been working with Tate Catering on the pop-up “Skate Cafe & Bar” located at the Somerset House Ice Rink. Now in its 10th year, the most glamorous skating rink in London is also home to our favourite foodie haven - the only place to get mulled wine, a Tiffany cupcake and some seasonal specials!
Our task was to help warm and beautify the cafe, making it a magical winter landscape that sits alongside the stunning Tiffany Tuck Shop.
Ficklestix rose to the challenge by illustrating a crystal snowscene, a swirling array of snowflakes and ice crystals interwoven with skaters dancing throughout a frosty landscape.
FicklestiX then manufactured the design in a glittering frosted vinyl and installed it across the tops of the Café windows.Over-sized silver snowflakes were applied to the Café walls and deep, rich burgundy vinyl panels added warmth and style to the Café interior.
As the last skaters hang up their boots when the rink closes on 24 January 2010, so the FicklestiX when the rink closes on 24 January 2010, so the FicklestiX installation will melt away without a trace.
