Film poster was to be designed for the independent movie ‘T-Minus’, a fictional biography of an astronaut with a questionable past. The challenge here was to avoid using obvious ‘space themed’ imagery (planets, rockets, stars, etc) but still try to capture that feeling of isolation and the personality of the main character.
Colours are directly taken from the official NASA space suit colour scheme and the disjointed, distressed imagery mirrors Rover video-feed.
Several versions of the poster were designed, along with a ‘hero poster’ and several support posters. The in-situ shots aim to take the spaceman 'out of space and onto the streets'.
The brand was simplified to be recognisable just as the coloured type on a black background. Then further distilled down to the orange dot. This dot was to be printed as stickers and given to those interested to stick onto personal belongings or whatever they choose; this being apart of the marketing campaign.
