Traveling experience for Linkin Park.

Synectics is a traveling experience that heightens the connection between the unorthodox, yet truthful sound of the genre-inventing band, Linkin Park and its passionate fan base.

THE BAND

Linkin Park is a band from Agoura Hills, CA. The band blended different styles of music into one brand new sound that is never been heard before.

Linkin Park has a extremely strong connection with their fans through official, as well as unofficial, online communities.

CHALLANGE

Existing communities and connections, whether between Linkin Park and their fans, or among fand, are all online. Since most of the fan communities are online, Synectics provides opportunities for fans to meet each other and the band members.

EXPERIENCE

The exhibition showcases the strong creativity of Linkin Park fans and their unbreakable connections with each other.

Video effects from Linkin Park videos projected onto participants, inviting them to the event.

Sign, tag, and draw on the touch screens on the way in. All the graphic on the screens will be projected onto the ceiling plane, and become part of the space.

Footages of the band working on their new projects are shown exclusively to the participants.

Synectics also provides a place for fans to remix and create their own version of Linkin Park music and concert footages. Fan's works will be shown projected on the wall surfaces behind.

The stage next to the remix area can be use for meet and greet, Q&A, and performance sessions.

DESIGN

Inspired by the distinctive music style created by Linkin Park, Synectics utilizes rigid and rough finishes on the outer surfaces, contrasting the expressiveness of the band on the inside.

The form comes from an exploded, continuous ribbon, symbolizing the unique sound the band created by mixing different sounds they loved. The graphics are also inspired by the winged soldier graphic on Linkin Park's Hybrid Theory album.
