Swans aren't cuddly
This work was created as part of the visualization project for Design Methodologies at SCAD, during winter quarter 2011. The assignment consisted of two parts: First, to draw a bird from memory, without any visual reference. Second, to create a piece, using all kinds of material or media we wanted.
During my research for another project I came across this quote by Erik Spiekermann and immediately fell in love with it. I grew up close to a park where we used to go take long walks, and I loved watching the swans, admiring them for their elegance. That was, until one of them decided to attack me and bite me. So when I found this quote, I knew I had to somehow use it, cause it combined both my love for typography and a (somewhat traumatizing) childhood memory of mine.
