"Isola means island and is the name of our neighborhood. Isola is our island in the middle of Milan.
Lorenzo Tricoli is a photographer who lives in this neighborhood and has been photographing it for years and systematically since 2011. The buildings, the roads, the people.
Everybody here knows Lorenzo and his camera. When, in May 2012, the kiosk on the square closes, we understand it is the perfect place to exhibit this work and show it to the neighborhood. People stop by, the look for themselves in the images, they recognize their friends. The exhibition is open day and night, the kiosk becomes a meeting point. On May 30, 2012 – day of the opening – people come to celebrate.

Over the following months, the project goes on and together with Lorenzo we think on the possibilities for a new form of sharing the project. The idea of creating a free zine seems to be the perfect solution."
