Pencil sketch
Inking: i apply a multiply layer of red to the pencil sketch so i can easily see the contrast between my outlines and the original sketch
applying flat colors
applying shadows ( this is my favorite part :-) )
applying highlights: when applying highlights i usually like to put a colored background that contrasts the highlights im applying
stock image from Google for the background
Final piece. added the Hero to the background...added a few more effects to the hero and to the background as well
i just had to try out a version like this :-p . I've always wanted to see a dark version of superman
