This poster project is one that reflects the mood and lyrics of the Gorillaz song -Superfast Jellyfish. I chose to look at climate change one of the deeper messages within the album Plastic Beach. Damon Albarn stumbled upon the idea whilst on a beach buy his house, he said; "I was just looking for all the plastic within the sand."
In investigating this, the lyrics that stood out to me were ‘the sea is radioactive,’ these were repeated within the song and stuck out as a powerful message and basis for colour.
To create the poster I first produced a pencil drawing of the jellyfish and type, which was then scanned, into Photoshop for manipulation and the addition of colour. This gave the piece a really nice finish whilst still keeping a raw aesthetic to go with the subject matter.
