Summer in Watercolor, 2013

Watercolor sketches completed between May and September 3rd, 2013.

They include the first live animals I've painted in this sketchbook (dead ones sit still making the process much easier), as well as a trip to Kokomo, Indiana where I learned how to mix my own greens, and a memorable day at my marsh. Over the course of the summer, I began using a limited color palette of two blue, two reds, three yellows, and Burnt Umber and I don't see myself going back to more paints than that.

All paintings are roughly 6"x8", Arches 140lb coldpress, in a handmade sketchbook.
