Sulawesi Tourism Campaign

  • Sulawesi, The Paradise Itself
    Tourism Campaign
  • Brief:
    Tourism Campaign

    Response:
I was assigned to make a tourism campaign for the whole island of Sulawesi, which is very rich in its nature and culture. In this campaign I wanted to show the beauty of Sulawesi, the hidden paradise that hasn't been recognized by many people. The look and feel should be fun, fresh, colorful, to show the characteristic of Sulawesi which represents in 4 keywords: Colorful, Nature, Adventure, Exotic. I did all the digital imaging for each of the images that have been used in this campaign. The objective of this project is to promote the beauty of Sulawesi (I emphasized the tourism sites such as beaches, lakes, and mountains, instead of focusing on the culture, food, and people).

    Concept: See It Closer
The series of postcards show the beautiful scenery on the left, and the object on the right shows the zoomed-in version of the image on the left.  I decided to use the concept "See It Closer" for the postcard series beacuse I wanted to show that Sulawesi is not just about beautiful sceneries, but there is a lot of things inside of it.

For example, the image of a mountain - if you see it closer & deeper inside, there is a beautiful culture lives in the place. There are also portraits of Toraja people and its culture on the back side of the postcard, showing that Sulawesi is not only rich for its nature, but also in culture.

Same thing with the other series, the Tangkoko postcard shows that Sulawesi is not only about forest, but it also has a wide variety of flora and fauna.

The Wakatobi postcard shows that Wakatobi as a part of Sulawesi island is not just a beautiful island, since it has a virgin beach and an underwater paradise as well.
