Su+Arte is an university symposium on teaching, research, creativity and professionalism in art organized by the Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of the Basque Country. In this first edition, held on 9th and 10th December 2010, professionals of art, teaching, graphic design or industrial design world spoke about their experiences and about new horizons in art.
When we started working on the poster we tried to find some concepts that we thought that were convenient to represent an event with conferences to talk about art in different fields. So, there were the issue of communication and the issue of art. We analized how to represent the first one and we thought that the best way was using a balloon such as those used in comics. For the second one, after discarding several ideas we chose a frame, which serves to contain a representative part of different types of artworks (paintings, prints, photographs ...). Combining both elements we created a metaphor. If the normal balloons contain conversations and art frames contain art, the poster illustration contains conversations about art.
