Studio Rookie; Branding

Studio Rookie plans to be a place which great design can shine and a range of disciplines can come together to provoke thought and display beautiful visuals. It would be associated with the Graphic Design course at my university and I set myself the challenge of briefing this unique idea. All of the work would be exhibited and sold by students of the university, hense word in the title; "Rookie".

The brief was to brand this fantastic concept and I hope that soon the full amount of funding will be achieved and the visual delights of Studio Rookie can be indulged upon!
A select few pages from my sketchbook showing some of the ideas. I suppose us creatives have to admit it takes a while sometimes to hit the nail on the head with a successful ident. Simple - Memorable - Timeless - Versatile - Appropriate.
All of the things I aimed to embody within the logo for Studio Rookie.
Colour Variations for simplified version of logo.
Variations of logo that can be used on different types of work. (Left; Traditional Printmaking - Right; Typography)
A set of posters for potential events. Studio Rookie doesn't only inspire creativity and insight from the Graphic Design course, it also invites other subjects with creative potential to introduce work through visual means. It's about provoking thought as much as just showcasing work that's visually outstanding.
Screen Printing - Although a slightly lengthy process for the logo (due to the multiple layers) - It seemed fitting since the studio celebrates experimentation and the different types of processes used to create work.
Simple T-Shirt for staff working in the shop / exhibition space
Simple bag created for promotional material to be given out at Opening Exhibition ( as shown in the following pictures )
Small card created to sit inside wallet. Simply giving discount and information, plus once you sign up to a newsletter you get information regarding events and news regularly. Always handy!
Promotional cards - they can simply be picked up and admired. It also features details on the reverse side.
Concept of shop front ( ignore the contents of the existing shop if you can! )
Extremely basic concept of the interior. Allowing for huge vinyl graphics to be put on the walls. An area for buying products created by students and sourced from elsewhere. A space to sit and chat about whatever comes to mind is also a great feature, especially since provoking thought - leads to discussion.
