Poster designed for Ballet BC, a contemporary ballet company that is a leader in creation, education, development and production of ballet performances in BC. They were looking for a bold, innovative and sophisticated design capable to portrait their image as a progressive and modern dance company. They needed a design that would captivate their audience by expressing the power and emotion that ballet invokes as an art form. The International Typographic Style is used to set the tone and define the visual language of the composition.
The design captures the image of Ballet BC through the symbolic representation of the energy that a ballerina projects through her dance movements. It is a metaphor for what you cannot see – the strength and passion behind the steps.
