Stream series came out of my long-term passion for futuristic
aesthetics, its expressiveness through soft curvy shapes, and my
personal respect to roots of sixties design. Hinting to the vintage
futurism, I used the aerodynamic curves and contrasting combination of
materials, bright leather and chrome legs.
My point is that design mostly requires clear solutions that are
understandable at first sight. So objects of the Stream series are made
of a soft aerodynamic volume and an elegant s-shaped back. It gives a
sense of solid object, as if everything is made of one piece. The form
is fasten by simple and straightforward legs which strongly fixate the
soft body. Seaming lines are generated by a computer and show
connections between patches of surfaces for optimum ergonomics with the
minimum number of control points of surface. The chair has an almost
perfect curvature.
Stream chair is a continuation of the ideas embodied in the
Pipe chair,
but it is lighter and appropriate even for public spaces. Bar stool is
made on the same principle as a part of complete collection.
