Storyboards and Animatics
This storyboard is one of my favorites and means the most to me. The assignment required us to chose a piece of text and create a storyboard and animatic for it. The text I chose was a poem title, "Grandma's Pearls of Wisdom" by Becky Netherland. As indicated in the poem's title the poem tells about the wisodm a grandmother shares with her granddaughter. I really enjoyed getting to make this project. The song used in my animatic is the instrumental version of Snow Patrol's "You Could Be Happy".
This storyboard was created for my Time Based Media class. The requirements for this project were to choose a song without lyrics and create a storyboard based on the feel and emotion of the song. The song I chose was "Emancipator" by Lionheart. The Program I used to complete this animatic was Storyboard Pro.
The assignment for this storyboard was to create a commercial or end credits to a movie. I chose to create a commercial for one of my favorite Play Station 2 games called Persona 4. This storyboard was a real challenge for me, but I enjoyed getting the opportunity to draw these frames out traditionally before scanning them in the computer. I used After Affects to edit the drawings and create the animatic.
This storyboard was my first assignment in my Time Based Media class. The requirements for this project included having two individuals meet and exchange something. I chose to have the first individual drop off a puppy while the second individual finds the puppy.
This was my animatic proposal for my Animation I final. I decided to make an animation about the cafeteria madness during dinner time. Especially during finals, since it was fast approaching that ever so chaotic time of the semester. Anyway I always wondered what the poor cafeteria workers thought of all the starving students who came rushing in demanding for food. I could imagine it would be overwhelming! Then I thought of all the ridiculous possibilities and I thought it would make for a humorous animation.
Rough Animations and Animation Exercises
Our assignment was to animate a character acting, thinking, and emoting with his/her surrounding. The scenario I chose was a student browsing the library shelves in search of a specific book, but in his haste mistakenly grabs a promiscuous book he quickly returns it to the shelf and leaves.
We were given the assignment to animate an effect in animation II. The effect I chose was snow drifts in a snowstorm.
This animation is from my Animation II class. The requirements for this project included animating the different weights of four objects. The objects include a bowling ball, feather, water balloon, and ostrich egg.
This is a sound clip animation from my Animation II class. We were given a list of sound clips to choose from, and I chose a more humorous clip. I had a lot of fun making this animation.
This animation is my walk cycle animation from Animation I. I chose a slow and sluggish walk for my animation.
This animation is my anticipation and reaction animation from my Animation I class. I chose to animate a person beginning to swing for my anticipation and the first swing forward for the reaction.
This is my three objects transformation animation from Animation I. We were required to choose three objects that transformed into one another. I chose to transform a frog, dragonfly, and fish.
