Stereoscope Magazine was my BA Final Project in Elisava.
It is mainly a magazine about cities and points of view, but Stereoscope is more than that, it's a mix between a city guide and a magazine full of interviews always using the argument of velocity (that was the theme of our projects that the school told us to work in).
Stereoscope is divided in two parts and adds a black-out in between.
The first part (Fast City) its contents are about the display city and all the inputs people recieve from the lateral directions such as shops or advertising. It is shown by a formal way by how the typeface is used and how she makes the reader read fast. The color is also an important part, red color means fast and also means to want to pass to the next page as soon as possible. All those skills are used to emphasize the content that is talking about this fast city.
After the first part you'll find a black out. It's a mirror-paper that places the reader between the fast and the slow part, just like in a physical city.
The second part is called the Slow City part. Its contents explain exactly the oposite of the first part such as the oasis concept, the quiet places, leisure, and so on.
It's designed to express calm, white and slow lecture. It's thought to build a new opinion to the reader about the city where he lives or he wants to visit.
The first and unique issue is the Barcelona one, but it seems infinite for every mass-city in the world.
I realized the investigation, art direction, photography and design of this magazine project with some collaborations for texts or pics.
I'd like to specially thank my facilitators Raquel Pelta, Rober Pallàs & Daniel Ayuso. Read Less
