Statuesque - Clarity

Inspired by the themes of fantasy and story-book characters, I decided to create a two-part photomanipulation series with a slightly dark and unsettling twist. The concept of a ‘living statue’ came to fruition through the use of a variety of visual elements, combined to create a warped setting for the character to live in.
The first part of this series focuses on the light statue, initially planned as the softer natured of the two statue characters, the composition actually succeeds in being more sinister than expected. This is mainly due to the striking gaze that appears to reach out to the viewer, drawing them into the surreal setting.
