PRAGUE, Spring 2013

This photo is dedicated to my late friend Vidia, who introduced me to Prague for the very first time through this old post card. The iconic tower there is called 'manes', the Czech for water tower.
A Tram infront of the Dancing House

The Dancing House (Czech: Tančící dům) or Fred and Ginger is the nickname given to theNationale-Nederlanden building in Prague, Czech Republic, at Rašínovo nábřeží (Rašín'sriverbank). It was designed by the Croatian-Czech architect Vlado Milunić in co-operation with the renowned Canadian-American architect Frank Gehry on a vacant riverfront plot. The building was designed in 1992 and completed in 1996. (Wikipedia)
The Sedlec Ossuary (Czech: Kostnice v Sedlci) is a small Roman Catholic chapel, located beneath the Cemetery Church of All Saints (Czech: Hřbitovní kostel Všech Svatých) in Sedlec, a suburb ofKutná Hora in the Czech Republic. The ossuary is estimated to contain the skeletons of between 40,000 and 70,000 people, whose bones have in many cases been artistically arranged to form decorations and furnishings for the chapel. The ossuary is among the most visited tourist attractionsof the Czech Republic, attracting over 200,000 visitors yearly.

In 1278, Henry, the abbot of the Cistercian monastery in Sedlec, was sent to the Holy Land by King Otakar II of Bohemia. He returned with him a small amount of earth he had removed fromGolgotha and sprinkled it over the abbey cemetery. The word of this pious act soon spread and the cemetery in Sedlec became a desirable burial site throughout Central Europe. (Wikipedia)
One of two guards of the Prague Castle, nowadays, the castle is used as the official office of the President of Czech Republic. On the background is the old city.
An arch that connects the Charles Bridge and Prague Castle.
A hand made souvenirs seller, pigeon's best friend.
A very typical pose of beggars in Prague. This photo was taken just before my travel-mate's wallet and passport got stolen by a pickpocket.
