At GlobalShop 2013 held in mid-April, Unicorn Graphics presented a series of smiling faces printed onto unconventional materials for their theme titled, “Smile with Us.” The displays, called Spatial Prints, are printed onto seemingly unprintable surfaces such as wood, tin, aluminum, duct tape, and even on top of paintbrushes and silk flowers. This technique allows printing over uneven, rough surfaces unlike the flat, smooth tops of more conventional materials.

The production process utilizes eco-friendly UV curing to eliminate harmful VOC emissions. In addition, upcyling methods take these otherwise disposable materials and turn them into creations of higher value. The end result is a surprisingly eye-catching work of art.
