Southern Airlines is a fictional company who is intended to be in the same market as Virgin Blue, Jetstar and Tiger Airways. It services the east coast of Australia with intention to expand to the rest of the country.
The logo is intended to represent the 'S' of southern, made from the traditional shape of the aboriginal hunting weapon, the boomerang. The imagery associated with boomerangs is that they always come back. The same theory applies to Southern Airlines; they will always bring you back home safely.
