Southeast Christian Church is one of the largest church's in North America, with membership around 25k. This project was an enormous undertaking involving several teams of developers along with multiple outside vendors and third party API data calls.
The project was much more than just a re-design, but also involved a completely new approach to content architecture, content management, and ownership, giving ministry leaders the ability to own their areas of the site.
The project involved building the new direction, design and content management interface within an existing church management solution that connected members website interactions with the church member database, giving both members and church staff the ability to track involvement, giving, small group participation, volunteer involvement, child participation and other data.
On the front-end user interaction side, the new website was ground-breaking in that it was the first ministry website to offer a personalization option, allowing members to customize their visual and content experience.
On the visual side, members could choose a website theme that would dynamically change CSS style sheets and present a completely different look and feel of the website instantly, with one mouse click.
On the content side, members could customize content on the homepage by allowing them to pick from several ministry modules that allowed them to keep track of the areas of the church they were primarily involved in.
