A little bit about the back story of this collage, I was clearing out my hard-drive, and I came across an old hand-cut collage I did.

Now, I must of done this about two-three years ago and completely forgot about this little project I had on the go. The idea was to get back into creating album artworks for bands I absolutely adore.
I’ve previously done a few projects inspired by Josh Pyke and Deftones whilst studying at university, but have never created anything for my absolute hero, Dallas Green (City and Colour).

Now, this isn’t an Album Cover, but it could be. (I may create a one-off design some day.) Instead, this is a little celebratory collage of Dallas’ very first album ‘Sometimes’, which is all about love, heartbreak, relationships, and all that soppy stuff.

I think the collage works very well alongside the song ‘Day old hate' aswell as 'Sometimes (I wish)’. I can’t remember what song exactly inspired this to begin with, but I have a feeling it was either one of those. Perhaps ‘Sometimes (I wish)' more so, due to the lyrics as they fit well with it.

If I was a simple man,
Would we still walk hand in hand?
And if I suddenly went blind,
Would you still look in my eyes?
What happens when I grow old?
And all my stories have been told?
Will your heart still race for me?
Or will it march to a new beat?

As I mentioned above, it was a long lost image that had been sitting on my desktop that I recently re-visited and I’m really glad I did. I had no set out plan of what I wanted to do with this collage, so I just put in my headphones, started listening to ‘Sometimes' and this was the outcome.
