My wife and I have made A LOT of sock monkeys and monsters in our time together. It's quite a bonding experience, really, to sew a sock by hand into a strange (or not so strange) creation, poking your fingers with the needle, bleeding. Some we've sold, others we've kept or given away as gifts. We were even e-mailed by a complete stranger asking if we could make a monkey that looked like his friend Steve (also a stranger). We did. He's the guy with the beard.
