Soon we will only speak in 140-character spurts and Facebook status updates. Paragraphs will be relics of the past. To prepare for our pithy future, I maintain a professional Twitter account and manage a corporate account as well as contribute to a corporate Facebook page. I use these accounts to direct traffic to our articles and blog posts, even though no one has the attention span to read all 900 words. On our Twitter pages I also link to news and editorials relevant to career issues to prove that we are literate people who know about current events. (You stopped reading four lines ago, I know.) The fun and challenge is to keep people interested and entertained about workplace news; it's not easy!
