Snuggle

Competition Entry with Robert Mosby for New Orleans Museum of Art

Snuggle represents the formal exploration of organic form in 3D digital space and its manifestation
as a physical object through the utilization of 3D printing technology. The project started as a
series of seven levitated spheres mutated based on ideas of proximity, movement, and plasticity.
The resulting object appears soft, mutable, and doughy. The ground plane responds to the elevated
mass by merging with its legs, creating a seamless transition from field to object, all inset
within a CNC milled base. The ‘snuggles’ are populated with nubs along a spine to demonstrate
the resolution of 3d printing technology while creating a unity within the mass of snuggles.
