The Sliding Platform would bridge the gap between the train car and the station platform precluding the possibility of a passenger falling thus preventing serious injury. It would employ a motorized track and roller system, sliding out a moment before the doors open and retracting back beneath the car a moment after the doors close, providing a short but stable bridge.
