The fictional Silversmith brand was built around three distinct products that were designed around the user experience of a home cycle mechanic. Specifically, three different tools were produced, a chain rivet extractor, a tyre lever, and a wrench tool. A user-centered design philosophy was employed to redesign common tools used by cyclists. As a result of interactive research with the target market, one of the key factors was weight reduction. The biggest improvements were that the rivet extractor was made lighter, more compact, and easier to use. The tyre lever was made stronger, lighter, and more comfortable to use. The wrench tool uses one handle, with interchangeable heads for multiple uses, and makes the tool light, small and beautiful.
