“Flora” transforms plants and their progeny into sculptures. The seed, the fruit, the leaves shed their ephemeral reality and are renewed in permanence. Flowers become sculptures and resist the ravages of nature. Their images purloined then preserved and their qualities redefined. Now we no longer see something that feeds us or grows but a form which stands alone as an abstraction even if we recognize it. in these images we can observe but not consume and so reconsider what these flora mean to us.
