Within the discipline of Visual Design Project for the 3rd year of Design's course in IADE, was presented to us the development of a new signage system for a cultural, sporting or imaginary space. My choice fell on a cultural space: the Calouste Gulbenkian's Planetarium.
For the creation of Signage System, the project began with the analysis of the existing signage system, noting their strengths and weaknesses. These factors, along with the characteristics of the space showed the different needs that must be taken into account during the development of this work in order to give all visitors a better experience and a better use of space.
My proposal focuses on getting a greater interaction within the people/space relation. To this end, I chose something recognizable to people and something that would provide more entertainment, a game, specifically the Space Invaders.
As it's also related to the theme of this cultural space (the Space and the Universe), it offers more dynamic and fun throughout the building, since the visitor will find himself as a "Space Invader".
As the visitor enters the building and begins his route, he would find different levels till the last one: the screening room of the Planetarium, to attend the session.
