At the initiative from the student body, two of the major student organizations in Oslo, SiO and OAS, merged
to one organization January 1st 2011. The new name: Student Life in Oslo and Akershus (SiO). The purpose
of the merge was to provide the best, united and equal welfare offer to all students. The new Welfare Council represents more than 55,000 students, providing a significant impact towards public authorities. The challenge was to create an identity uniting all students, at the same time representing the 13 different business areas
    within SiO.
Always present, goal oriented and resourceful; these are the SiO values. Based on these values, Mission developed a strong and simple identity. The symbol represents the S in the O, and is the core of the identity.
It is based on a visual simplification of the different values (the 3 rings symbolizes the 3 values, which circle
and embrace the student and student life). The style of photography brings a warmer touch to the identity and opens up for ingenuity.
Mission has not only been responsible for developing a brand architecture for the organization, but also had the pleasure of developing concepts and brands for several of SiOs different business areas. Examples include SiO Athletica (a sport and fitness centre) and SiO Mat&Drikke and their café concept Deiglig (a french bakery), in these projects we've provided both names, ideas and concepts and off course the overall brand identity.
"The new identity for SiO is emerging as a strong and fearless symbol for the more than 55,000 students it represents. It also enables us as an organization to appear strong and unified both internally and externally. Which was one of the main
    reasons for the merger."

Nina Langeland, Head of Communication, SiO
