Expressing an aspect of the building 'Notre Dame Du Haut' in Romchamp, France.
The chapel included an outside alter which was surrounded by a curved wall. As the priest would speak their voice would be amplified to the followers in front of them because of this surrounding wall.
This is what made me focus on the idea of sound for the building's wordmark.
I looked into how sound is visualised and used the concept of soundwaves.
My wordmark is the name of the building spelt out in soundwaves.
N . O . T . R . E etc.
I recorded myself speaking each letter of the alphabet and transferred this into a digital form for my wordmark.
These soundwaves became a unique and interesting typeface i had created and i have also produced a simplistic poster to promote it. Each soundwave sits in a grid formation with it's corresponding letter or number sitting below. Aswell as a poster i also created a square booklet which describes the journey and influences
of the typeface. Each soundwave letterform sits on its own page with its true identity hidden in the corner
of the page.
Each poster was screen printed individually.
