Sense of Place was a school project where we went out around town and choose a place to work with. I choose to do my high school track. I took many pictures of the place and many notes on the sights, smells, sounds and textures. Then, we started to make elements pertaining to specific parts of the place. (I saw many track shoes, so I had an element that was a track shoe.) The next phase was to combine elements into a miniature composition that would give you the sense of a small part of the place. (Such as combining track shoes, with the texture of the football field turf.) The end product was meant to be a poster that had many of the combination elements into one that would in turn show the entire sense of the place. The following two posters are my end results.
