As my senior project, I designed a new product called gocup. The gocup is a redesigned lid to be used by tea drinkers who are “on the go.” As a tea drinker, I feel the current design of the standard “to-go” cup has always been a product that could benefit from a redesign. Tea consumers, tend to have an issue with the tea bag string. With the current design of “to-go” cups, the string is placed over the side of the cup allowing the string to absorb liquid and leak down the side as it hangs over. This results in an unpleasant wet mess around the cup. This mess is something I experience daily, whether in my car, on my desk, or on my hands and I feel it needs to change. This change is the gocup. The current designs of standard “to-go” cups do not benefit the tea drinker. This issue has led me to redesign the standard “to-go” cup with tea drinkers on mind.
