Self-branding

    The designers challenge
  • As designers, we have the ability to visualise and produce logo marks and brands for other people but when it comes to constricting our own the challenge is much greater. I decided to use Baskerville as the basis of my branding as it is a solidly formed serif typeface with carefully produced letterforms which provide the balance of thick and thin strokes allowing the opportunity to create something visual interesting. I wanted my logo mark or logotype to be simplistic but effective. USing hot foil plates i have produced two variations of the logotype, on debased the other foil blocked in silver against a white an uncoated 300gsm card stock.
