The program for our clients was a generous one given the property size, but as it is on a hill side with a 40 foot drop over the 130' length, we were able to stack two floors into the ground and still retain terrific views. The main floor in the common area living space, above is the sun room and roof top terrace, and below are the more private quarters, away from guests.
The objective of the long and narrow structure was in part to prevent hogging the river valley view from passers by, so we set the house close to one side and allowed for a corridor to the city scape.
One of the most interesting challenges was creating a car gallery for a collection of 6-8 cars while maintaining the feel of a 2 car garage.
We have shown a few renditions, as with most projects, the design is an evolution.
