Satoyama Village project is a housing development with a communal forest "Satoyama" shared by the 41 houses surrounding the site. The forest is not only a landscape to be viewed, but a place where various activities are expected to happen. Our task was the general planning and creation of design codes, and a design of the model house with "controlled opening" to maximize privacy under a condition where houses are placed close to each other to maximize its frontage with the communal forest.
