Concept One: Leaves, Water, Stone, Bark
With an M and S thrown in for good measure
The source of inspiration for this concept was quite plainly the usual structure of a garden: a mix of leafy plants, water, soil and stone, trees.

Stylised depictions of these elements were thrown together in a hand-drawn collage, and the shape of an M was suggested, albeit discreetly, in the overall structure of the mark. An S can be also glimpsed in the curve of the water element.
Concept Two: Seedlings
Viny and seedling-like, this concept is all about things that grow, and in keeping with the organic theme of the entire branding exercise. It has been hand-drawn then vectorised.

The application includes printing all stationery on seeded paper, continuing the growth message and the craft aspect: it's a wonderful little project for kids to do, growing native Australian plants from former letterhead.
Concept Three: Bark

The more abstract of the three concepts, the Bark one is about layers of sandstone and circles of growth, the red dust of Australia and the dark brown colour of traditionally fertile soil.

Inspired heavily from Mark Stoner's "Ephemeral Lake" sculpture in the Red Sand Garden  at the Royal Botanic Gardens Cranbourne, Victoria, this concept places less emphasis on plants and possibly more on the water-thirsty soil of Australia and the amazing dry-climate gardens it has inspired.
