Enjoying a cup of tea after meal is a daily routine for most Chinese seniors because tea accelerates people’s intestinal peristalsis and purges their guts. Adopting this essential function of the tea, I named this creation, Sans-Tache, which means purifying, and designed the tea-box with an appearance of a washing machine, a metaphor of purifier, to remind people the benefits of drinking tea. I made this tea-box with a recycled wood material, which not only gives out people a nice, warm, and comfortable feeling for this design but also eliminates the metalized feature of a “traditional” washing machine. I decorated the tea wrappers with different patterns of traditional Chinese dresses, Qipao, which represents different varieties of tea. The darker the dress, the stronger the purifying power of the tea. I created ten different Qipao-dress wrappers in accordance with the colors and the features of different kinds of tea. For illustration, the tea with a green-dress wrapper signifies green tea while the yellow-flower-dress tea stands for chrysanthemum tea.
Having a cup of tea, enjoying a relax moment in life. Sans Tache offers you a good mood each day!
