Sal De Riso
Italian confectioner of Amalfi Coast
In Salvatore De Riso’s products you can find the real taste of the Amalfi Coast, with its genuine flavors belonging to an eternal tradition. Here everything becomes a symbol: a land rich in citrus fruits, a sea colored with the most incredible shades of blue and green, the picturesque beaches, the tiny islands and the villages made of white, pink and yellow small houses built around tiny harbors. It is from the uniqueness of this territory that Salvatore De Riso draws inspiration for his “art”. Minori, Salvatore De Riso’s native town, represents the small pearl of this coast. The ancient “Rheginna Minor”, with its beautiful “Annunziata” caves, the Basilica and the spectacular ruins of the “Villa Romana Marittima”, was the destination of different cultures and civilizations, that left indelible traces in the course of time. The research that brought, in 2004, to the creation of the new trademark “Sal De Riso” arises from a deep study of these cultural differences. Therefore Sal De Riso’s new trademark derives from a graffito found in the “Roman Villa” at Minori. We used its geometric structure in order to generate a graphic symbol that was innovative and traditional at the same time. Also the (presumed) shape of “petal” or “drop” was drawn from another graffito found in the same villa.
