Originally a very scary project! How do you make such mundane everyday items creative?!
Especially when looking at a 64 page brief of do's and dont's.
much research, focus groups and social experiments I created a range of
ideas and then started eliminating them in a pro's and con's fashion.
This led me to using typography for one main idea as this is very rarely
seen on packaging as the main graphic.
But the second idea in my
opinion is beautiful. It uses repeat patterns to create a seamless
design across the shelf so that it is full of colour and creativity. The
patterns have been inspired by the product contained within the
The beautiful part about it is though is that I
actually created paintings using the packaged substrate to use for the
internal colour of the patterns. So Cling film paintings basically! I'm
not usually a big fan of abstracting but this was kind of awesome.
