    Redesign the graphics!
  • Originally a very scary project! How do you make such mundane everyday items creative?!
Especially when looking at a 64 page brief of do's and dont's.

Through much research, focus groups and social experiments I created a range of ideas and then started eliminating them in a pro's and con's fashion. This led me to using typography for one main idea as this is very rarely seen on packaging as the main graphic.

But the second idea in my opinion is beautiful. It uses repeat patterns to create a seamless design across the shelf so that it is full of colour and creativity. The patterns have been inspired by the product contained within the packaging.

The beautiful part about it is though is that I actually created paintings using the packaged substrate to use for the internal colour of the patterns. So Cling film paintings basically! I'm not usually a big fan of abstracting but this was kind of awesome.
  • The full set of designs for Sainsbury's! Very different to what they usually have but the brief did say 'Try something completely new'.

The render and 3D PDF was taken using ESKO Packaging software try it out there's a free trial!
  • Cling film painting! I have a whole book of them now.
  •  Repeat pattern for foil, the shape is taken from foil after it has been scrunched up and flattened out.
  •  Patriotic Rolling pin and Oven gloves... Just the way I like them.
  • Apples for Cling film?! Yeah lettuce looks like a blob if you apply this texture to it and why not Cling film your apples? They like to be fresh to.
