The Sack & Run bag has been designed as a lightweight solution to replace current reusable shopping bags (RSB), such as Green Bags, which are often repurchased out of convenience rather than reused. Contrary to their branding and marketing, RSBs actually have a negative impact on the environment.

The intent of Sack & Run is to create a product that reduces the impact of forgetful shoppers, and those who are misled by the supposed "green-ness" of RSBs–particularly of the polypropylene variety. Sack & Run accomplishes this by providing a reusable bag that is made of environmentally sustainable materials, which uses less material, is compact, easy to carry, stylish, fun and has multiple uses. Sack & Run’s dual goals are to improve customer reuse rates, and to reduce the impact of bags which might be discarded through use of a biodegradeable material.
