    Modularity, personalization, and durability constitute the heart of SOL REPUBLIC's Tracks line of headphones. We needed a new package to reflect this distinctive proposition in a unique way for 2012 as well as a new direction for our retail branding.

    The Remix headphone packaging highlights a completely interchangeable system. Each product component communicates a tangible value through windows in its own separate package. An intuitive unboxing experience and simplified iconography communicate the features to a global audience. The efficient and minimalist form also uses less material and components, resulting in a lighter, elegant design that takes up nearly half of the space of the original.

    We focused on eliminating extra layers of packaging, and materials that are commonplace in consumer electronics packaging. The question we asked again and again, was how to put the product front & center at retail without encasing the headphone elements in extraneous plastic trays or hiding them inside a simple box. The end result of this innovation process generated structures that not only had to appeared clean and elegant, but gave the day-to-day strength needed to protect the product inside.

    In my role of  Art Director and Concept & Structural Designer I oversaw all aspects of this program and was responsible for all elements of execution and refinement.
