The Social Justice Coalition campaigns for clean and safe sanitation. I was asked to design a poster and pamphlet to advertise their march through town that culminates in a 'toilet queue' outside the city council (a toilet is placed outside council and all the marches form a long queue behind it).
For the design we played off the long, snaking queues that were formed during voting in the first democratic election in 1994. This time, however, the voting box is replaced by a toilet, highlighting the situation of those living in informal settlements.
