Ruggles Modern Art show 2012

Pictures from the Ruggles Modern Art Show in Bolton, CT. July 21st 2012. All the paintings where hand painted between April and July 2012.
All of the painting for this show was done by hand. After a busy first year at Champlain College as a graphic design major, I was eager to step away from the computer and create something with my hands. I decided to explore typographic styles and hand rendered letterforms. The varied letterforms are placed on top of often complex and layed backgrounds which show a glimpse into my creative process. The goal was to create unified wall which interacted with itself, and followed through on a theme.
Hand Screen-printed poster I designed and printed for the show. Limited edition of 100. Hand rendered type.
The Ruggles show was a great experience to have complete creative freedom. I was allowed to do anything in my space, and was fully encouraged to create a themed enviornment like may of the other artists in the house. the entire 200 year old farm house was filled with 30+ local artists who were all able to do what they pleased with their space in order to see out their creative vision. The show and opening was a great success with a massive turnout for the small town of Bolton, CT. It was amazing to meet and work with so many other amazingly talented artists.
