Rudderless Journey

"Rudderless Journey (2012)" is an interactive installation designed by Pukkawat Leesawan, Sukij Lertpradist, and Jazz Trinos.  The design concept was originally intended for Sydney's Cockatoo Island, NSW.  Users of this artwork will be immersed in a digital voyage through the manifestation of vivid and random-like patterns derived from the island.  The journey presents itself as a reflection of life's indeterminate nature.

This interactive installation has been programmed through Processing and manipulated by way of a Microsoft Kinect.  It was displayed in the "ghost[s] and the[ir] machine[s]" exhibition in 2012 at the Old Darlington School, University of Sydney.  The exhibition was launched by the University of Sydney Design Lab, which was managed by New Media Curation (www.newmediacuration.com)

"Most days we cross paths with accustomed settings...  A train ride to work each morning...  A coffee break in midday...  A sense of rush to go home in the afternoon...  Despite this actuality, unplanned events precipitate and break the daily routine.  Our life's direction, in a way, can be unclear in spite of certain aims we set ourselves." (Jazz Trinos, 2012)
