Rough Diamonds is a photography project I began in 2006 and revisited in 2010 onwards. Phase one was shot on film with re-purposing in mind, while phase two was shot digitally for the same purpose. I wanted to explore angles and perception, taking in both a micro and macro frame of mind. Urban infrastructure on a grand scale, then down to street level. Finding repetition in a natural state and one altered by humankind. The abstraction of familiarity.
