In this Romeo & Juliet poster, originally, the heart colors were reversed (black inside and red outside), but I decided to see what it would look like the other way, and I am happy I did. I think it's a stronger image this way, and is also a bit more romantic. I feel like the black on the outside represents the outside forces that were pulling the lovers apart, and the red inner heart represents that they were able to experience love together, despite that. The spaces between the triangles are also representative of heart fractures, hinting that it will ultimately break, as it does in their story. I wanted to do something that was poignant, but not too dark, and I think I succeeded in that.
