SGW is one of the world’s leading telephone handset manufacturers and a long-term client. They asked us to develop an age-neutral DECT telephone for their customer, Motorola, to sell in Europe.

Working alongside SGW and Motorola’s US design team, our approach was to create a simple, elegant, age neutral design that would allow a range of sympathetic cosmetic finishes related to price positioning. The generously sized handset sits on an equally striking base, elevated to present to the caller.

Rodd and SGW have developed a number of designs for mainstream retail markets, and produced user research studies exploring technology attitudes amongst older adults.
