The challenge was to create a chair that supported up to 100kg. It had to be made of cardboard and use no glue or fixings for assembly. This concept utilizes structural strength from folding and locking mechanisms, and is portable by being light enough to carry even when assembled.
A rocking chair came into mind because of its huge potential for relaxation and fun for its user. I decided to keep it low to look less imposing and perhaps even be a possible form of entertainment for kids. The material used provides countless and fun ways for kids to react with, and when the time comes for them to be disposed they can be recycled.
