Rock Route Radio

The Rock Route Radio is a mechanically rechargeable mountaineering VHF communication device, designed for use in remote wilderness areas.

Its unique mechanics allow it to be recharged when clipped to the rope while rappelling down or alternatively, by simply pulling a rope through the energy generating rollers. Multiple holes cross-drilled in the slot walls of the rollers provide gripping surfaces for the rope.

Designed for extended longevity, the Rock Route Radio is configured to be easily separated into mechanical & electronic halves, giving the end user the option to upgrade the electronics as technology advances while retaining the ability to reuse the well-built mechanical half.
