This project was centered around designing a beach house for a couple whose children were grown and had families of their own. The clients requested specific features, such as an art studio and a livable outdoor space. The space was designed to function as a gathering place and accommodate visiting guests. The architectural features of the home are an updated version of traditional designs. The cedar shingles add a touch of tradition, while the glass railings modernize the large deck overlooking the ocean. Throughout the home, the surrounding landscape is brought indoors with the use of natural materials and tranquil colors.
